Ours started off bumpy but ended quiet enough. Bleu woke me up early Saturday morning, whimpering because of the storms. She’s terrified of thunder. After things settled down, she slept all day long while I drank even more coffee than usual. LOL ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14…

Where Bloggers Live: My Place of Work

    10 January 2020 / 6 Comments

I’m the director of library services at a community college in Louisiana. For the most part, I like what I do. I enjoy helping students and collaborating with the instructors. I’m an introvert, so I sometimes get overwhelmed with all of the peopling that I have to do. During those times, I usually go sit in my car to decompress. Or take walks around the campus. We recently moved into a new building and, y’all, it’s pretty impressive. Along with being the director of library services, I also handle the social media for the college, so I was able to get a front row seat to the construction. Watching the…

Style Imitating Art Inspiration: Snuff Box

    6 January 2020 / 0 Comments

Welcome to the first Style Imitating Art of 2020! I’m so happy to have you here. If you’re a regular, you’ll notice a few changes… I’ve created a new badge. I wanted something eye catching and complimentary to my blog. I created it using one of the templates available at PicMonkey. I’ve also added a new STYLING IDEAS section beneath the Inspiration Art Work area. I plan to use this section to give you styling ideas. You don’t have to follow my suggestions, I just thought it’d be fun to share thoughts on how to interpret the inspiration piece. Hi, welcome to the first edition of Friday Favorites of 2020! Can you believe it? Not gonna lie, I’m still kind of gobsmacked. Last year flew by, but I’m not complaining. It was a hard year for my family. Usually I put together a post with plans for the coming year, but I decided against that this year.…

Has this Christmas season been a whirlwind or what? Usually, the holiday break seems so long, but this year everything seemed to go by in a blur. And, honestly, I couldn’t tell you why. We didn’t do anything exciting. Well, no, I did binge watch Designing Women. That show stands the test of time. What’d you do? Did…

Anyway, here are some of my favorite outfits from the past year. I had to break things up into two parts because I couldn’t narrow things down to 12. LOL Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. Where Bloggers Live: Christmas Decor

    21 December 2019 / 12 Comments

Hi and welcome to the Christmas edition of Where Bloggers Live! I’m happy you’ve joined me for a look around at my Christmas decorations. The Hubs and I went back and forth over whether or not we’d decorate this year. Since the kids moved out, I haven’t much felt like decorating. Well, that and the fact that I can’t find any of the decorations that I’d collected over the years. You see, every year, since my first daughter was born, I’d go to the store and find an ornament for her and write the year on it. As the other children came along, I did the same for them. Between…
